Which boiler is right for me?
You may already have a good idea of the type of boiler you require or a preference for a specific brand, we're happy to discuss your options with you if you give us a call. Here's a quick rundown of some of the things to think about.
There are 3 main types of boiler, combination, system and conventional (regular) boilers. Each boiler is best suited to different types of properties and the needs of its inhabitants. Let's go through each kind in a bit more detail:
Most often referred to as "combi" boilers, these boilers are responsible for both your central heating and heating your water. These are great space-savers and as such, are great for smaller-sized properties. Modern combi boilers are highly energy-efficient, quiet to operate and are a cost-effective option for a new boiler.
A system boiler heats your central heating system and provides the hot water that is then stored in a cylinder. These types of boilers are best suited for larger properties with greater demands for hot water. For example, if you have multiple bathrooms in your home and require hot water in both places simultaneously, system boilers and cylinders provide great hot water performance.
Also referred to as regular or heat-only boilers, conventional boilers send hot water to your radiators and sends hot water to be stored in a cylinder. These types of boilers require a cold water storage vessel. These are typically found in older properties.
